can you actually grapple in these or are they just for striking?

Hi Marco — the FGV15 is designed for sparring. It has more knuckle padding than a standard competition MMA glove, so it’s ideal for harder partner work and drilling alike. For actual competition you’d want a lighter comp glove, but for training these are perfect.

They’re fairly true to size. If you have larger hands or plan to wear them over inner gloves/wraps, sizing up is a good idea. For most people your usual size will fit well.

Hi I’m looking to purchase your fairtex fgv15 gloves and wanted to ask if wearing a hand wraps underneath is recommended when weesring these gloves? and if so, do I go up a size to ensure it fits?

Hi — you actually don’t want hand wraps under these. The FGV15 is a fitted MMA sparring glove and adding wraps would make it far too tight. It already has built-up padding over the knuckles designed for MMA sparring, so you’re well protected as it is — just go true to size (only size up if you’re between sizes, as they come up slightly small). If you’re after even more knuckle padding for harder sparring, take a look at the Fairtex FGV18 Super Sparring Gloves instead — they’ve got extra padding.
